There are different requirements for coloring pigments between Products made of different rubber materials and products made of the same rubber material but made by different processes. Pigments that can color rubber products are divided into two categories: inorganic pigments and organic pigments. Inorganic pigments are mainly iron, chromium, cadmium, titanium and other compounds, of which carbon black, titanium dioxide and calcium carbonate are used in large quantities. The chemical composition of organic pigments is more complex. Organic pigments are generally used for coloring rubber products.

Comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of organic pigments and inorganic pigments

In addition to ultramarine, rubber coloring is selected and applied based on the properties of two types of pigments. Generally, rubber products use more organic pigments. Organic pigments for rubber colorants mainly use insoluble azo pigments, azo lake pigments, phthalocyanine pigments, and dioxazine pigments.

(1) Lake-type organic pigments are not suitable for coloring latex products
(2) Insoluble monoazo pigments are not suitable for coloring rubber products treated with solvents such as benzene.
(3) Pigments with free ketone content >50mg/kg are not suitable for coloring rubber products with phenolic resin as vulcanizing agent.
