Thermochromic powder, also known as Temperature-sensitive powder, Temperature-changing powder, Heat-sensitive toner, Thermal color-changing powder, or Temperature-indicating toner, etc., when encountering different temperatures, the color of the powder will change. Generally, there are two-stage color change, three-stage color change and multi-stage color change.
The thermochromic powder itself is an unstable system (it is difficult to change if it is stable). Its light resistance and heat resistance are not as good as ordinary pigments, so care should be taken during storage and use. Thermochromic powder should be stored in a cool, dry and completely dark condition, and avoid strong sunlight and ultraviolet light when used. The thermal stability of the thermochromic powder is different in the color-developing state and the decolorizing state. The stability in the color-forming state is higher than that in the achromatic state, so the varieties with a lower discoloration temperature are stored in a refrigerator.
Under the above conditions, most varieties of thermochromic powder have no obvious degradation in performance after 5 years of storage. Avoid working at a temperature higher than 75°C for a long time.
The thermochromic powder is non-flammable, and it will not spontaneously ignite when heated to 170°C in air. However, due to its extremely fine particles, once it forms dust in the air and reaches a certain concentration, it may cause deflagration when it encounters an open flame. Please proceed with caution.
